Submission Update

Hey querying world,

I am taking a summer break from submissions. The pile has grown way up above my ears, and I'd like to be able to catch up on everything, and requested manuscripts, AND client work. So...

From August 1st to September 1st, I am not accepting queries. I'll update this on the submission page as well.

What will happen if you query me during the month of August?

Easy. You'll get a nice auto-response and the query will be moved to the trash. Please feel free to resubmit in September if you still think I'm a good fit for your project.

Thanks!

I think its awesome that agent's take a break for awhile to catch up and refresh. More and more seem to be taking that step.

Here's to catching up and taking a breather! (Hopefully, you get a little bit of a breath) :)

Wondering: what about those who had queried prior to you closing yourself off to queries. I had sent a query a couple weeks ago and I was wondering if you are still reading those queries, or are they being chucked in the trash?

I'll answer everything up to the end of July. I'm just running desperately behind, and will be using August to catch up.

No problem, Elana. Completely understandable. Thanks for answering my question.

Do you accept Inspirational romance?

I know how you feel. This summer, while trying to get away with my family, I have been awash in submissions for our literary magazine. We're filled through February 2011 and it's almost time to close the door for submissions for a while. Enjoy your break.
